Robert Nicholas works; Temporary dam and overpump, formwork, steel fixing, rock armour installation.
We built this complex in-situ reinforced concrete culvert headwall to support a failed structure within the zone of influence of the rail line. This required a co-ordinated approach to temporary works involving multiple aspects, cofferdams and over pumping to control the river, propping and formwork to support the structure.
All steel work for the reinforcement had to be fixed in-situ around propping of the failed wall, with staged concrete pours and formwork placement. Robert Nicholas team delivered this challenging project on time and with no disruption to the operational safety of the railway.
